Caromark Building Group is a residential and commercial General Contractor in both North and South Carolina. Founded in 2007 by Bob Whiting with the vision of building and renovating homes, condominiums, townhomes and commercial projects for customers, Caromark’s focus is on personal service.

Our philosophy is to listen to our customer’s needs, perform the highest quality work possible and always at a fair price. Our goal is to bring people’s dreams to reality, therefore creating an environment where they enjoy the construction process and feel involved every step of the way.

Bob holds the license for Caromark and has over 30 years in the construction industry. Bob is also a licensed insurance adjuster and can assist clients with any insurance claims on their home.

Our director of operations, Dara Whiting, joined Bob in the building business after leaving the banking industry in 2009. She brings a diverse background in change management, process improvement and client relationships. In addition to her banking background, Dara has extensive experience in interior design and assists many of our customers in selecting their design selections — from paint colors to complete design selections, Dara is always willing to assist in whatever capacity our customers desire.

We strive to exceed each customer’s expectations and ensure satisfaction at all times. Together, the team at Caromark will make sure your project is handled with care from start to finish, and we promise to deliver the kind of service that builds a lasting relationship with you, our customer.

What clients say about us

4.4 stars from 26 Google reviews.
Five-star reviews below are quoted verbatim, pulled 2026-09-11.

  • “Caromark was an absolute lifesaver for me. After my home was hit by a car, I found myself in a new town without any local contacts or guidance. … Dara and Bob took over everything from there. They handled all communication with the insurance company and clearly knew the process.”

  • “Caromark was great to work with when our house was damaged by a car running into our garage. I called Caromark in a complete frantic and both Bobby and Dara were great. They had someone at my house within hours to make sure our house was safe and secure.”

Patti Bowman Google review · 5 years ago

  • “Highly recommend Caromark for restoration projects. … They worked seamlessly with my insurance company to ensure all work was pre-approved and there would be no difference in quoted and final charges.”

Regan Sermersheim Google review · 7 years ago

  • “Caromark has been doing various repairs, roofing, and siding projects for our HOA at our condominium community for several years now and they have done a great job. … I will use Caromark again and highly recommend this company.”
